Peter tells us because of our identity in God, we are on a mission – to be salt and light in a culture desperately needing to see the reality of Him from His people. This is part of our journey through 1 Peter, as we consider how the Apostle has identified who we are in the sight of God.
In our journey through 1 Peter, the Apostle has identified who we are in the sight of God – a chosen race, royal priesthood, holy nation, a people of His possession, and a people receiving mercy. Peter then tells us the purpose from these identities – to lift up our God by proclaiming His wonderful Person and works.
As we continue to explore the Church’s identity as laid out in 1 Peter 2:9-10 we will dive deep into the mercy of God; as we are a people who have received great mercy.
Our Identity in Christ Together: A chosen race, A royal priesthood, A holy nation, A people for His own possession.
