Apart from the example of the Lord Jesus, Paul is a model to follow on becoming a person of prayer; prayer that reaches the heart of God and brings one into deep fellowship with Him.

This Lord’s Day evening, we continue in chapter two of our study of 1 John. In doing so, we encounter the dominant theme in the letter – assurance that we know God. Lord willing, we hope to establish the foundations God has given us to live a life of assurance of knowing Him.

Lord willing, we hope to establish the third reason why we need this prayer – the competing sinful loves that seek to replace Christ’s love in our hearts.
