This Lord’s Day morning, we continue our study of the Apostle Paul’s second prayer for the believers in Ephesus. Lord willing, we enter into the substance of the second petition – being strengthened by God’s Spirit in our inner being so that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith. In an age of much spiritual activity and excitement, we need to ensure the Jesus we claim to know and worship is the Jesus of the Bible and not our imagination. We hope to identify who is this One, the Biblical Jesus, we are praying will dwell within the believer’s heart.

By evaluating our lives after the manner in which Jesus walked, then actively following His example by our obedience, we gain assurance of salvation – a key theme in this letter from the Apostle John.

We hope to identify the marks of self-deception and the way to affirm we are true children of God.
